About

CONTESTED-TERRAIN is a collaborative platform for analyzing and opposing contemporary antisemitism from a radical Left (ie. anarchist, marxist, and critical theory) perspective. It provides space for the sharing of activist and academic resources, reports on contemporary news and events, and fosters the development of critical analyzes of the current situation.

Seeking a broad emancipatory perspective, attention is given to such topics as reactionary anti-capitalism, nationalism, populism, left-right convergence, anti-globalization, anti-imperialism, conspiracy theory and anti-zionism. But it will not be limited to these subjects.

The website is not a campaign for specific positions, but rather reflects the various perspectives of its contributors, and provides space for the posting of fragmented thoughts and their collaborative development.

Schalom Libertad tries to pursue a normal anti-capitalist existence but is regularly distracted by (left) antisemitism, and the relationship of Jewish history to the Left. He lives somewhere between Brooklyn and Berlin. The name “Schalom Libertad” is lifted from the book about Jewish anti-fascists in Spain during the civil war, by Arno Lustiger.

Bob from Brockley has a history in anti-capitalist and anti-fascist activism in the UK, and especially South London. Now more of an armchair activist, still just as angry about capitalism and fascism, but increasingly angry about the state of the resistance to them. He blogs at Bob from Brockley.

Echo has spent several years agitating and organising against antisemitism and boycotts of Israel on the ‘left’ and within the labour movement. Echo is currently based in Berlin.
